Arrived at 20h in Tokyo, Narita Intl. Airport after a bad start at the airport in Hamburg, a bad stay at the airport in Paris and a terrible flight to Tokyo! I usually never get sick on a plane, but this time, I thought I really was about to throw up. It was hot and the air was so bad, and the food…
I couldn’t even enjoy the movies on the plane, because we only could choose between 5 movies or so and after watching the first one, I was so disappointed that I decided not to watch the others.
But! My arrival was much better. My boyfriend came to pick me up and we took a train to Tokyo to bring away my luggage and then we went to a Hub in Shinjuku. A couple of friends were already there, drinking and we had a really good time! This is the best way to fight a jetlag, by the way. Just stay up the whole first night and you won’t have problems with the day-night-rythm
Saturday we first went to Shibuya to get me a new SIM card for my mobile phone. I still had an old phone from my previous stay as an exchange student, so all we had to do is to go to Softbank (Vodafone in Japan) and get a SIM card on my boyfriend’s name and I was set up! Otherwise it would be too hard to get in contact with all of my friends here, most of them don’t really use the internet, but everyone has a mobile phone. The girl at the counter at Softbank was really cute and very nice to us, she even gave us a little stuffed animal, a white dog, as a mobile phone strap. Happy!

Had chinese food somewhere, delicious dumplings, HMMMM, and then went to a winebar in Shibuya again. This place is gorgeous! It’s tiny, but cozy and the prices are really good. I love it!
And I think it would be a really good dating-spot, if you don’t mind standing. The food is good too! Total recommendation!!
Today we went to Harajuku, because it’s St. Patrick’s Day and there was a parade on the Omotesando. Before meeting with our friends, we went to a really cute little neighborhood, which is really next to the Omotesando street but it was such a quiet neighborhood, very different from the rest of Harajuku, with its shopaholics and fashion victims. Went to Starbucks there, tried the Orange Latte (recommendation from a friend) and enjoyed the good weather. The parade was a little short, but interesting.

I went to Okinawa with 2 friends. I haven’t been to a beach for more than 2 years and I was so excited about going to Okinawa. I love the beach. I love Okinawa.

We stayed in Naha, but most of the time we were driving outside the town, to the beaches and of course we wanted to do some sightseeing. We went to the big aquarium in the north of the main island.

Shuri-jô
On our last day in Okinawa there was a big matsuri. About 1000 dancers were on the street, dancing and drumming.

Recently I didn’t have Internet so I could not upload anything anymore. But luckily from today on my Internet is working again, so ~~~ I’m back!
I’ve been to Mt Fuji last July, together with some friends from school. It was a very hard trip for me, since I don’t have experiences in hiking at all. I really thought, I was going to die … but still, the trip was worth everything.

It was a very fun trip! I’m glad we managed to go on this trip together, because it was the last trip with my friends here in Japan. Soon I’m going back to Germany…

The last time I visited Hakone was in May 2008, with my parents. I really love the scenery in Japan. There are so many nice places to visit here, it’s just beautiful.

Also we went to the Kegon waterfall. It was a bit foggy there, but still beautiful…

Today I went bowling with some friends and we decided to take some purikura pictures after that. It’s always a lot of fun to take purikura with your friends and I hope that I will still have a lot of chances to take some before I return home.

Since 14th June we have a new train in Tokyo.

Very practical, because it stops right in front of my college.

I am currently taking Ikebana classes at my college in Japan. The teacher is very nice, but she talks really fast and in keigo only, so I don’t get everything. Ikebana is not as difficult as I imagined, but it’s not that easy neither.

…and the whole thing…

… in Himeji. It’s so beautiful that there are still these really amazing castles in Japan. The pictures above were taken at Himeji Castle. The following pictures were taken at the gardens next to the castle.

I visited Himeji in March.
